Types of ESD flooring:

Static Dissipative (SD): a hard-wearing homogenous contact sheet or tile floor cover that is chemically treated to discharge static electricity. The resistance level of the floor does not need to be as low as that of conductive floors. SD must be used in a controlled environment with a relative humidity of more than 40%. Typical areas of use include electronics manufacturing, operating theatres, computer areas, instrument control rooms, repair centers, and production facilities. This floor offers a Resistance to Earth of 5 x 106 – 1 x 109 Ω.

Electrostatic Conductive (EC): contains carbon in order to discharge electricity quickly and efficiently. EC conductive flooring is generally used in explosive areas or manufacture of any explosive material, ammunition or highly sensitive chemicals, etc. This floor offers a Resistance to Earth of 5 x 104 – 1 x 106 Ω.

Conductive (RoF): predominantly consists of carbon and is ideal for hazardous environments that use explosives, ammunition or highly sensitive chemicals in mining. This floor offers a Resistance to Earth of 0- x 104 range, which is fully conductive.
